Making Piklets

From this to this.

Today was Miss Uden's last day. She kindly made piklets with us so that we could use the butter that we made at Howick Historical village. They smelt and tasted delicious!

Making Minion Mats

We made Minion Mats. In the olden days they made floor rugs. It was a challenging activity tying all those knots using strips of cotton material with Minion characters on them. We tied them onto garden matting. Well done Room 24 for persevering until the job was done!

Tinker Time Cubetto

Here is James, Max and Mr Armstrong at the beginning of the week trialing our new Tinker Time activity: Cubetto - a little wooden robot who loves to explore and play. This time round the boys experimented and then began programming - giving the robot instructions to follow using the World Map or Space Map, the Interface Board ( control panel), the 16 blocks (commands). Cubetto had fun adventures!

Tinker time begins

Toia

This afternoon we started Tinker time in Room 24. We had to read a diagram and make the model using the Brain Box Electronic Sets. We all enjoyed the cool air made by the rotating fan. We were all great at figuring it out by giving it a go and persevering.

Selfie's

Room 24 used the iPad for the first time in this class by taking a photo of themselves. These were glued onto an outline and a long white straw was taped to the back so that everyone had their own selfie stick. We wondered around the class with them telling each other about things we like.
For next time we would lift the iPad up a little so that our eyes aren't always looking down.
Here is Jess with a good example of what we would do differently next time.
